Impact Points and Badges Terms

These Impact Points and Badges Terms (Impact Terms) form a legally binding agreement between you and Verdant Volunteers. They govern participation in Verdant's Impact Points, badges, recognition, trust-indicator, and related community participation programs.

By earning, receiving, displaying, using, or seeking Impact Points or a badge, or by continuing to participate in the program after these Impact Terms take effect, you agree to these Impact Terms. Participation is also subject to eligibility, verification, account standing, and availability in your location.

Nothing in these Impact Terms limits a right or protection that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law.

These Impact Terms supplement the Terms and Conditions, Volunteer Participation Terms, Host and Placement Terms, Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, Fundraising, Donations and Withdrawals Terms, Privacy Policy, Data Protection Policy, community rules, Campaign rules, and transaction-specific disclosures. Those documents are incorporated by reference.

These Impact Terms control if there is a conflict concerning the earning, calculation, adjustment, use, or status of Impact Points or badges. The Fundraising, Donations and Withdrawals Terms control the receipt, safeguarding, refund, chargeback, and Withdrawal of Campaign Funds. Mandatory applicable law controls over all contractual terms.

Badge or Impact Badge means a digital recognition, participation level, trust indicator, or account status that Verdant may award when the applicable criteria are satisfied. Examples may include the Community Trust Seal, Loyal Giver Badge, and Impact Legend Badge.

Eligible Donation means a genuine, voluntary Donation to another eligible Campaign, completed while signed in through Verdant's official donation process and accepted as qualifying under these Impact Terms.

Impact Points means non-monetary program units that record eligible verified participation and support progress toward Impact Badges.

Member means the individual account holder who participates in the Impact Points and badges program.

Qualifying Volunteer Activity means volunteering completed through or recorded by the Platform and verified in the manner required for that opportunity.

Withdrawal Requirement means an account-specific requirement, assigned after review, to obtain a specified Impact Badge before the next Campaign Withdrawal may be completed.

Impact Points and badges are available only to eligible registered Members. A Member must use the Member's own account, provide accurate information, maintain account security, and comply with all applicable Platform terms.

Impact Points are credited to the account that completed the qualifying activity. They are personal to that Member and cannot be combined, shared, moved, or inherited. Creating or using multiple accounts to obtain points, badges, benefits, or Withdrawal eligibility is prohibited.

Verdant may limit or exclude accounts, activities, Campaigns, organizations, locations, or programs where participation would be unlawful, unsafe, technically unavailable, inconsistent with program integrity, or subject to a separate arrangement.

Impact Points and badges are participation and recognition features. They are not money, currency, stored value, electronic money, property, a bank balance, a security, an investment, a deposit, wages, compensation, a gift card, or a transferable loyalty asset.

Impact Points have no cash or surrender value. They cannot be redeemed for money, withdrawn, purchased, sold, traded, transferred, gifted, pledged, exchanged, inherited, or moved between accounts. A badge does not confer ownership in Verdant, guarantee employment or volunteer placement, establish charitable status, or independently guarantee a Campaign, grant, payment, or Withdrawal.

Except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise, Members do not acquire a vested property right in Impact Points or badges. Verdant administers the program and may verify, correct, withhold, reverse, or revoke program records in accordance with these Impact Terms.

Impact Points may be earned only through qualifying activity completed through Verdant's official systems. The principal earning methods are:

1. Qualifying Volunteer Activity that has been completed and verified.
2. Eligible Donations voluntarily made to another person's or organization's Campaign.
3. Another no-payment participation activity expressly identified by Verdant as eligible before the activity is completed.

Viewing, sharing, saving, applying for, pledging to, or expressing interest in an activity does not earn Impact Points unless the Platform expressly states otherwise. The Member must be signed in to the account that is to receive points when the qualifying activity is completed or recorded.

The Platform will identify the points available for an activity or the method used to calculate them. Points remain subject to verification, processing, program limits, and integrity review.

Submitting a volunteer application does not earn Impact Points. Volunteer-related points are normally credited only after the activity occurs and required attendance, completion, reporting, or host verification has been received and processed.

Verdant transmits or facilitates volunteer applications, but the host organization determines acceptance or rejection based on its requirements, capacity, scheduling, selection process, and other lawful considerations. Verdant does not guarantee that a Member will be accepted, that a suitable opportunity will be available, or that verification will occur by a particular date.

Members may apply for more than one opportunity, but Verdant may restrict applications for overlapping pending or approved shifts. Points may be denied if the Member did not attend, did not complete the activity, failed required verification, violated host or Platform rules, or participated in an artificial or coordinated arrangement created mainly to generate points.

Donations are optional. A Member is never required to donate a specified amount merely because the Member needs a particular number of Impact Points. Verified volunteering provides a no-payment earning route, subject to eligibility, availability, completion, and verification.

Unless a transaction disclosure states otherwise, each whole United States dollar of an Eligible Donation earns one Impact Point. A Donation made in another currency is converted to its United States dollar value using the exchange-rate method displayed or applied when the Donation is processed. Fractional point amounts are rounded down to the nearest whole point unless the Platform displays a different method before payment.

Expected points will be displayed before an eligible Donation is completed where reasonably practicable. Points are credited only after the Donation is confirmed and may remain pending during settlement or review. If a Donation is canceled, refunded, reversed, disputed, or charged back, corresponding points may be withheld or removed.

An activity does not qualify for Impact Points if it is incomplete, unverified, ineligible, made while signed out, completed outside Verdant's official systems, or inconsistent with these Impact Terms. Without limitation, points will not be awarded for:

1. A Donation to the Member's own Campaign or to a Campaign the Member directly or indirectly controls.
2. A Donation funded with Campaign Funds, a Campaign Balance, or money routed from a Beneficiary.
3. A private transfer, off-Platform payment, or unofficial payment arrangement.
4. A Donation that is pending, failed, canceled, refunded, reversed, disputed, unauthorized, fraudulent, or charged back.
5. A volunteer application, saved opportunity, expression of interest, unverified attendance, or incomplete activity.
6. Circular funding, reciprocal Donations, donation chains, coordinated volunteering, related-account activity, or an arrangement primarily designed to generate points or badge progress.
7. Activity completed in violation of law, host rules, Campaign terms, community rules, or another Platform agreement.

Campaign Funds must not be redonated, deducted, transferred, recycled, or routed through another person for the purpose of generating Impact Points or obtaining a badge.

Unless the criteria for a specific badge state otherwise, verified points earned from different qualifying methods may be combined in the Member's total. A Member may rely entirely on Qualifying Volunteer Activity, entirely on voluntary Eligible Donations, or on a combination of available eligible methods.

No particular proportion of points must come from Donations. A Donation is not made mandatory because it may be a faster or more convenient earning method for a Member.

Activities may be subject to account, daily, event, Campaign, geographic, or anti-abuse limits disclosed through the Platform or an account notice.

Each badge may have its own point threshold, verification criteria, account-standing requirements, regional eligibility, qualifying-activity requirements, review conditions, or other stated criteria. Current criteria and the Member's recorded progress will be displayed in the Impact Portal, badge page, dashboard, or account notice.

Badges may be awarded after all applicable requirements have been completed and verified. Reaching a point threshold alone does not guarantee a badge if the badge also requires identity verification, account good standing, activity review, policy compliance, regional eligibility, or another disclosed condition.

A badge is a Platform indicator based on information available at the time of award. It is not a warranty, endorsement, professional credential, guarantee of character, guarantee of future conduct, or representation by Verdant that the Member or a Campaign is risk-free.

Following an individual account review, Verdant may determine that a Campaign Organizer must obtain a specified Impact Badge before the Organizer's next Withdrawal can be completed. This requirement forms part of Verdant's trust, verified-participation, and account-safety framework. It reflects Verdant's community participation model, under which members who receive support from people in the wider community may also be asked to establish a genuine, verified history of involvement in that community. Factors may include account and Campaign history, prior payment activity, verification status, participation history, compliance information, support review, and reasonable trust-and-safety or program-integrity considerations.

If a Withdrawal Requirement is assigned, Verdant will provide an account notice that identifies:

1. The required Impact Badge.
2. The applicable badge criteria or a link to those criteria.
3. The Member's recorded Impact Points and remaining point requirement.
4. Available qualifying earning methods.
5. How to contact Support for review or correction.

The requirement is to satisfy the conditions of the specified badge; it is not a requirement to make a Donation. A Member may use Qualifying Volunteer Activity to earn required points without paying Verdant or donating. The Member must not use Campaign Funds to satisfy the requirement.

If a reasonably accessible qualifying volunteer opportunity is unavailable because of the Member's location, disability, safety, legal restriction, or another material circumstance, the Member may ask Support to review an alternative non-payment participation or verification method. Verdant may require reasonable supporting information and will apply any alternative consistently with law, safety, and program integrity.

The Withdrawal Requirement is not imposed as a charge for access to Campaign Funds and is not intended to confiscate those funds or deny a Withdrawal indefinitely. Until the requirement is satisfied, waived, or replaced following review, however, the affected Withdrawal remains ineligible. The underlying Campaign Funds are not forfeited to Verdant and do not become Verdant's property solely because the Member does not satisfy the badge condition. They remain governed by the Fundraising, Donations and Withdrawals Terms, including rules concerning refunds, chargebacks, reserves, inactivity, legal process, and lawful disposition.

Verdant recognizes that Qualifying Volunteer Activity may require an application, host approval, attendance, and completion verification and therefore may not be immediate. The host organization, not Verdant, makes the final acceptance decision. Verdant will administer an assigned requirement in good faith and will provide a Support review channel where qualifying activity is materially delayed, unavailable, or incorrectly recorded.

Impact Points and badges do not replace identity verification, Campaign review, sanctions screening, fraud review, tax requirements, Payment Partner rules, grant review, host review, account good standing, or any other applicable condition.

Completing a badge required for a Withdrawal removes only that specific participation condition. It does not guarantee that a Withdrawal will be approved, processed by a particular method, or delivered by a particular date.

No badge guarantees acceptance for volunteering, Campaign approval, fundraising success, a grant, payment, placement, recommendation, ranking, visibility, or continued access to a Platform feature.

Points may remain pending while Verdant or a third party confirms a Donation, attendance, completion, host report, identity, Campaign relationship, payment status, or program eligibility. Processing times are estimates and may vary by activity, host, Payment Partner, location, technical conditions, and review needs.

A delay does not create a right to provisional points. Verdant may request receipts, transaction references, event details, attendance records, host confirmation, Campaign information, identity information, or other evidence reasonably necessary to determine eligibility.

If a technical or administrative error prevented eligible points from appearing, Verdant may correct the account after verification.

Verdant may withhold, correct, reverse, suspend, or revoke Impact Points or badges where:

1. The underlying activity did not qualify, was not completed, or could not be verified.
2. A Donation was failed, canceled, refunded, reversed, disputed, charged back, or unauthorized.
3. Points were duplicated, miscalculated, credited to the wrong account, or awarded because of an error.
4. The Member used multiple or related accounts, circular activity, automation, deception, or another method to manipulate the program.
5. The activity or account violated law, these Impact Terms, community rules, Campaign terms, volunteer rules, or another agreement.
6. Revocation is reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, correct records, or preserve program integrity.

Where lawful and reasonably practicable, Verdant will provide the general reason for a material adjustment and allow the Member to submit relevant information. Verdant may withhold details that would compromise fraud prevention, security, privacy, safeguarding, legal obligations, or another person's rights.

Verdant may use automated systems, analytics, device and location signals, payment information, account relationships, host information, and manual review to identify activity that may be artificial, circular, coordinated, abusive, or primarily designed to obtain points, badges, or Withdrawal eligibility.

Review may consider accounts associated with the same individual, household, organization, Campaign, payment method, device, network, Beneficiary, or coordinated group. A relationship alone does not establish abuse, but Verdant may request information and withhold points while the activity is assessed.

Members must not arrange reciprocal Donations, false attendance, manufactured volunteer opportunities, donation loops, transfers through friends or relatives, account sales, or other schemes intended to create inauthentic participation records.

No person is authorized to sell, transfer, trade, or guarantee Impact Points, badges, account upgrades, or Withdrawal eligibility. Members must not pay another person to earn points, take over an account with points, falsify volunteer activity, or obtain a badge through an unofficial payment.

Claims that a person can sell Impact Points, unlock a badge for a fee, guarantee a Withdrawal through purchased points, bypass verification, or privately upgrade an account are unauthorized and may be fraudulent.

Members should not provide credentials, verification codes, payment information, identity documents, or remote account access to anyone offering such a service. Suspected scams should be reported promptly to Support.

A Member who believes points or a badge were incorrectly denied, delayed, adjusted, or revoked may request review by contacting Support. The request should include the account email, relevant Donation reference or volunteer-event details, Campaign or host name, approximate date, and supporting records.

Verdant may require identity verification and additional information. Verdant will review available records and may confirm the original decision, correct the account, request more information, or refer the matter for additional review.

Submitting a request does not create provisional points, automatically pause a lawful account restriction, or guarantee a particular outcome. Nothing in this section limits a non-waivable right or remedy.

Verdant may add, remove, or change eligible activities, point rates, badge names, badge criteria, thresholds, limits, verification methods, regional availability, or program features. Material changes will be posted with an effective date, and additional notice or consent will be provided where required by law.

Changes generally apply prospectively to activity completed on or after the stated effective date. Activity completed before a change will ordinarily be evaluated under the rules displayed when it was completed, except where an immediate correction is required by law, addresses fraud or security, corrects an error, or prevents material abuse.

Verdant may suspend or terminate all or part of the program where reasonably necessary for legal, safety, integrity, or operational reasons. If the program ends, Verdant will provide reasonable notice where practicable and will explain the treatment of existing points and active account-specific requirements. Because points have no cash value, program termination does not entitle a Member to cash compensation except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Members are responsible for determining whether receiving or using Impact Points, badges, or related benefits has tax, reporting, employment, benefit-eligibility, or other legal consequences. Verdant does not provide tax or legal advice.

The disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity provisions in the Terms and Conditions apply to the Impact Points and badges program to the maximum extent permitted by law. Verdant does not guarantee the availability of a qualifying activity, host response, verification time, point credit, badge award, or related feature.

Nothing in these Impact Terms excludes liability, remedies, or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

The informal resolution, arbitration, class-action waiver, governing-law, venue, and jurisdiction provisions in the Terms and Conditions apply to these Impact Terms. Subject to mandatory law, the governing law is the law of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

These Impact Terms apply globally. They do not remove mandatory consumer, accessibility, discrimination, payment, privacy, court-access, or other rights that apply in a Member's jurisdiction and cannot be waived by contract. Translations may be provided for convenience; the English version controls to the extent permitted by law.
